Mending a broken heart

Trust when it's broken
Is the hardest to mend
The heart is hardened
And the mind numbed
Dulled with pain
Days stretch on to infinity
And the nights, well, are the hardest
Your being is enveloped
In a murky web
Of lies
Betrayal
Sadness
Pain
Tears don't fall anymore
Your very heart is torn asunder
Little things that brought you joy
Offer no relief
You are one among the walking dead
Much to everyone's disbelief
You learn the wrong lessons
That trusting is bad
When all it takes
Is someone to rekindle the spark
That once ignited your soul
And made it shine
And then you're whole again
Not because you needed another to complete you
But you learned how to be complete
Within the boundaries
Of your body and soul

#Pinthecreep, honey!

A girl walks down a busy street And is leered at by some creep A catcall, a rude remark, a whistle, Making her in her discomfort, bristle Girls are often mocked and taunted And they find it hard to carry on, undaunted Let’s put an end to this #streetharassment The next time a jerk tries to act funny #pinthecreep, honey!

To my mom and dad on mother's day

You cradled me against your bosom When I was a wee babe But those memories are lost in life's daze And I spent my adolescence fighting with you Coz those were years that I didn't have a clue It was in my twenties That we grew close I understood the sacrifices you made For me to live a better life and succeed more No one will believe how much you've done for me Except maybe my father Who's done equally The two of you are so dear to me And I will love you forever more, That's a guarantee
