I'll always maintain
It's the four-footed fur kids
That are our saving grace!
Oh to behold a little kitten or pup
With its whiskers and furry ears
Hold sway over us
For years to come.
There's no better medicine
For an aching heart
Than a delightful little creature
That'll envelop us with love
