Turning 40

40, they say, is a landmark year.
Well, this year there have been fewer tears
Since I've lived right
Despite a few fights
I've been by myself
And loved the written word,
Which, always, always, loves me loads
Kindled everything childlike about me
Living with my parents has taught me
That the world is a great place to be
Learned to live with positivity
And exclude all negativity
I love life
My heart is full
And i couldnt ask for more
Thank you universe, for blessings, galore.

Tears for fears...

I sob and sob and sob. 'coz all your carefully constructed lies  have come crashing down Raining on me in torrents The tears flow down unchecked But it feels good to cry. What else have you given me other than tears To remember you by?

Glasses tinted blue

They always talk about rose-tinted glasses That place the blame squarely on 'you' What people underestimate Are the blue-tinted ones Placed by someone else on you That obscure your view of the world And make sadness true for you I tweeted this poem to @ RealisticPoetry  in response to a picture prompt.
